Wissahickon Walks

Since enrolling at Arcadia, I’ve traveled to England, Scotland, France, and Cuba, but one of my favorite places on earth is just a 15-minute drive from campus: Wissahickon Valley Park.

Whenever friends come to visit me in Glenside, I take them on a trip to Wissahickon. The first time I visited the place, I went diving at Devil’s Pool, a legendary swimming spot along Wissahickon Creek, where you can make a 15-foot jump into the water from some rocks. Thanks to some of my companions who were reluctant to dive, I discovered a few of the park’s more than 50 miles of hiking trails, and each time I’ve been back I’ve gotten to explore a new one.
